major research project

About the Project:

The initial research topic stemmed from a concern of the lack of knowledge for the rich history and iconic visual nature of the Adelaide Fruit and Produce Exchange located along East Terrace and Grenfell Street. The goal was to educate South Australians on their city’s history to provide effective approaches to preserve the history, heritage and visual culture of some of Adelaide’s most iconic buildings.

The solution led to a magazine – with the potential of a series – where each would come attached with a map of the City of Adelaide from 1916 showing the locations of subsequent magazine issues and page numbers for specific signs, prompting the reader to search for the relating signage themselves.
